Can a person have herpies 2 for 20 years and not know and not give it to their wife

Is it possible that I have had herpies 2 for 20 years and not have given it to my wife I have resently had an affair I told my wife we were both tested I am positive she is neg

With protected sex your odds were near zero. My bet is you've had this a long time. So you affair partner tested as well?

She is negitive and we have always been unprotected but affair was protected I tested positive for both 1 and 2

Protected or unprotected intercourse?
It is possible to have hsv and be married for 20 years and not pass the virus. This isn't rare. Unfortunately it's very hard to know for sure if it's old or a new infection. Can you have your partner test for hsv2? This would be not only a good idea as you've tested positive but should also add some insite. If she's negative well tben odds are extremely high you've had this a long time. Which is my guess.

The affair was recent started in May ended in July my numbers were 10.9

How recent was the affair? What test cane up positive? What was the numeric value of the positive test? This is all extremely important info
