I am aware of that however it does matter if it IgM or some other testing scale
Apparently not, otherwise I'd have had one already.
I got an appointment on Wed at an "infectious disease specialist" practice; their receptionist was the only person I spoke to who had any clue at all about these things. The urologist's medtechs and nurses were useless.
You can get another IgG...the biokit isn't going to tell you much above 3.5 that you don't already know. It's useful (as is WB) for confirming equivocal positives, aka 1.1-3.5. Above 3.5, the IgG is considered dispositive.
I understand this may not be the news you want to hear, but it is what it is. I'm facing the same **** as you, tho my scores are a lot lower.
Thx.. Can I order a biokit online?
ok; any IgG test with the 1.1 threshold is unequivocally positive at 5.0.
Have another one done or find a biokit to confirm HSV2. The hit rates on these scores, as I mentioned, are well in excess of 95% accurate beyond 3.5.
Get another test and you will have more evidence...two of them in a row with scores this high and that's pretty much that. Only a hail mary with WB in a few months might succeed; these things have happened, but I'm unfamiliar with any happening at 5.0s.
They were not done back to back. I took only one blood test but from that blood they tested for both on the same day
yes, 5.0 on any ELISA test, be it Focus, Kalon, or whatever, is considered an unequivocal positive.
At values above 3.5, WB and Biokit confirm positives at 95+% rates. Two tests back to back showing 5.0...that's a positive. Not much hope there I'm afraid.
1.1-3.5 should be considered "equivocal positives" as they are only truly positive (as confirmed by WB) 10-15% of the time for scores from 1.1-1.5, up to 75% of the time for scores of 3.0-3.5.
Isn't that just for the Elisa testing
Yes both test had the same exact number which is why I'm questioning could it be a false positive. My provider would not go into detail just says, "it's positive" but I'll bee okay. Those were his actual words. Refused to offer me suppressive medication or any help atall
So seperately 1 and 2 came back as 5.0. If the test has a numerical vlue of 1.1 and higher for positives. (Some test yse different value ranges it is a good idea to ask your provider about the test) it almost always confirms infection. To my knowledge. Althoughthose symptoms cant be explained with herpes as you wouldnt have bothe hsv1&2 on your hands. They are just anxiety most likely follow up with your dermatologist if it is serious. Have you ever had genital oral sores/ulcers blistes?
1 & 2, but syptoms are hands hurting and burning, small bumps like hair folicles on my legs that itch in different spots. Nothing else
Then whatever kind it was it is positive. Is it hsv1 or 2?
Yes it was a specific igG test
5.0 is considered unequivocal

Also no you cant transfer it through soap.
Constant burning and itching isn a sypmtom. What blood test did you get? Was it type specific IgG?
