Can these test be false

Hi

I have been in a relationship now for about 6 months and about 3 weeks ago my girlffried started showing signs of thrush that seemed to get worse and eventually she got some blistering around her vagina they were not itchy or sore but went to see a doctor who told her that she has herpes and pescribed some meds including yeast infection meds as she also have a yeast infection. We both then went and had anitibody tests for herpes type 1 and 2. Where I stay here in africa they can not do the test so draw blood and send them to South Africa to test.

The test results came back with her negative for both 1 and 2 and my results were as follows
Type 1 IgG            Positive
Type 2 IgG            Positive
1+2 IgM Ab           Negative

Now from what I have read this mean I have had herpes for some time. Herpes 1 I can understand as I have had cold sores my whole life but the herpes 2 I am not so sure about. I have never ever had any signs of herpes other than my cold sores on my mouth. Also I cant think of an incident where I might have contracted it. However about a year ago i was having unprotected sex with a partner for 3 months.

My question is, is it possible for these tests to be wrong (both mine or my girlfriend) and is it possible to get these results without ever having an outbreak.

I recommend finding a local herpes support group so that they can better help you with your confirmatory testing options in your area. I really can't help you with what your options are outside of the US.

Interesting.  Your girlfriend should have had the sores swabbed and cultured/typed.  Wait for grace to come take a look at your results.  If you don't hear from here in 24 hours reply to your thread with the word bump.
