Chances of catching herpes from kissing someone for half a minute?

I thought I'd got over this fear but here it is back again.

I went out and kissed someone for around under a minute, it was quite dark in the club but I couldn't see any visible coldsores.

However, like around 2 days afterwards I started to get a really bad sore throat. This has happened before after kissing someone in which I had to be on antibiotics for! I have had a herpes blood test since so know that occasion didn't give me it.

After a week, my sore throat is getting better - no tingling in lips in that week. After wearing this new lipstick today, my upper lip was randomly burning like when you put toothpaste on a spot? It was more near the corner of my mouth, I thought it was maybe because I kept licking the corner of my mouth but now I'm not sure!

After around half an hour, when I was more distracted it went off and then I was focusing on my sore throat and that completely flared up again to the point I could barely speak?! Now I'm focusing on my headache and that has flared up, and all the rest of the symptoms have gone. Is it normal for herpes symptoms to be this separate. Am I seriously bringing these symptoms on myself?!

Thank you for your reply. I kissed someone who said it was a spot when I questioned if it was a coldsore. It wasn't connected to his mouth sort of on his chin. He suffers quite a bit with acne on face and back. Is this a likely story?

Welcome back
The odds are extremely low as you already know. You have a lot of anxiety over your encounters. Unless tou get lesions i really wouldn't worry.
