Hi everyone.. Let me give you some background before getting to my current issue
Once or twice a year I receive injections of Juvederm on my lips (very little)
I have been doing this for 5 years with no issues
The second to last time I did this, I went to someone new to do the procedure (a legit doctor in the cosmetic field).. It hurt more than usual when he did it and I immediately began to feel a tingling burning sensation. I did not know what this feeling was because I've only ever had the standard single cold sore in the corner of my mouth before. After this, I had a HUGE outbreak all over my lips, chin, mouth, etc.. I didn't even know cold sores could get like that. It eventually went away with time but it was so painful and horrible looking .. This was over a year ago
Fast forward to about two weeks ago when I decide to use my original person (not the one who hurt me and caused the previous outbreak) .. I was cautious because I read once you have a major outbreak in a specific area you are more prone to get another one in the same spot but not as severe. This time, knowing what the first signs of a cold sore outbreak feels like, I picked up some abreva before hand and applied it as soon as tingling started.
Now this is where my confusion starts about my current situation:
The day I was injected up until this point (it's been a little over two weeks now) I have felt a burning itching tingling feeling. Sometimes it starts and stops, sometimes it's very painful, sometimes it's just uncomfortable, and the strange thing is that it feels as if it's traveling and cycling to different areas of my face at different times...on lips, mostly around my lips and corners of the mouth, below my nose, my chin, below my chin, etc.. I have not had any blisters appear. Very dry skin, tiny microscopic sized bumps that look slightly pink, little white dots of dry skin flakes but no real bumps, maybe a few that look like pimples but haven't changed. Corner of my lips has tiny white bumps but those are the only real bumps I've seen but again they havent changed or progressed
Shouldn't a cold sore appear by now in the large areas that have been feeling this way?
What else could it be?
Could cold sore virus just give you the feeling with no appearance and last this long?
So confused....
I've tried researching but found nothing
Sorry long post
Thanks everyone
