Can you get genital herpes by touching infected genitals then touching yourself ?

So I'm very anxious and have come across so much conflicting information in regards to this matter. 11 days ago I got fingered by a guy who I suspect has genital herpes. I did not see his penis as his room was dark, but I've heard from several people that this is the case. Based off of this I didn't allow for us to go all the way as I didn't feel comfortable not knowing his status. I wanted to speak to him directly to address this.  Anywho, things got a little heated and during the time he fingered me he touched himself several times then continued to touch me. Additionally, I grabbed his penis once in the heat of the moment and touched myself. I have been experiencing soreness, itching and burning throughout my entire vaginal area. (I had BV last month and understand it could be a recurrent infection) however I've just been extremely uncomfortable and in pain. My question is what is the likelihood of contracting genital herpes by this type of exposure ? Again, I am unsure as to whether or not this is the case with him however I am very concerned. I've come across lots of mixed information on the internet in regards to this type of exposure !!
