Conflicting Test results

Hello,
I had a viral culture swab test that tested positive for HSV-1 genitally.  I am newly pregnant and had a blood test that tested positive for HSV-2 and negative for HSV-1.  My question is which is right, the reason that I am asking is because my husband gets cold sores so type 1 would make more sense, but if I have type 2, I will need to start asking him about infidelity.

you just call and ask them to read your test results to you. they will do that over the phone.  There should be numeric results associated with them, if not, you'll need more testing done.

You can have hsv1 and hsv2 both genitally.  At this point we need to rule out a false positive hsv2 result for you for starters. also hubby needs tested to see what his hsv2 status is too.

I am not sure how I could get a copy.  She just told me that it was an IgG test and tested positive for HSV-2 and negative for HSV-1.  But when I had a viral culture 6 months ago it tested positive for HSV-1.  My question is which test is usually more accurate?

At this point - can you get your blood test results to post here for me to look at - ie hsv1 igg .34 and hsv2 igg 1.2 or whatever they are is all I need to see posted here.

Has hubby been tested to know his own status?
