Confusion about results

Recently I had an outbreak and was tested for herpes using the HSV I/II IgG and type spec IgG tests. The test that look for both HSV I and/or II came back postive, or 2.0. But the typing tests that looked specifically for I and II both came back negative. So I am confused as to what type of herpes I have, because I had a breakout both on my genitals and in the mouth area.

I do have a regular partner and he was just tested for HSV II and it came back negative. But I was tested a couple months ago and was negative for both. He wasn't tested for it when we got tested together because he didn't know to ask for it. So it is all very confusing.

I also had a lesion culture done at an urgent care, but they are unable to find my chart, so I am just waiting now for them to get me the results.

The non -type specific tests have a very high false positive rate.  At this point you need to wait and repeat the specific blood test 4 months after the last time you had sex.

Do you have a regular partner? if so have they been tested yet?

did you have a lesion culture and typing done on your oral and/or genital symptoms?
