Doctor says it might be herpes, I was very surprised.

I've had these tiny white bumps on my penis for as long as I can remember, possibly before I was sexually active. I've only had a few partners my whole life, all of which were virgins, and intercourse with only one of them. Always Protected at that. I recently had a friend told me about something called Molluscum that he had, so after all this time, it made me concerned. I've been able to pop these bumps, and they've never (as far as I can tell) increased in size and have always been in the same spot. I finally went to the doctor yesterday, and he told me it looked like herpes. I was shocked. I just got blood work done today, and I'm anxiously awaiting the results. The fact that these spots have never changed, have never really caused me pain, and considering how safe I've been, I'm very confused. I'm hoping someone can give me some ideas while I wait for the results.

I don't understand why the doctor would name herpes before anything else. This is all very new to me, I feel that I've always been safe. Another thing I didn't mention was that one time I had a small slit right on the line of my scrotum, at the base of my penis. It could have been more than once, I can't exactly remember. I've read that herpes can even be as small as that, so my mind is going a mile a minute of course.

anything that lingers and has been there for as long as you can remember, absolutely is not herpes.

They could be Fordyce spots. I have them on my lips on the border between the outside of my mouth and the inside of it. They freaked me out too when I first noticed them, but they're harmless.

I also had what might have been a cold sore on my lip at the time of the visit. I only had it for about two days before it healed. Either way, I'm wondering if the test will be positive.
