Can I give myself genital herpes?

A man recently kissed me while on the final days of an outbreak (the sore had scabbed over and fell off the next day). He then performed oral sex on me immediately after. Is it possible that the virus spread from my mouth to genitals? I have been searching for answers and have not found anything specifically related to my situation. Any professional medical advice is appreciated, as I have been anxious and concerned about this for a couple of days.

That would be incredibly rare. In other words it was no risk. Your body builds defenses that offer great protection. So getting it elsewhere is very rare. His kissing you then giving oral is bo real risk either. All in all you can relax.

Thanks for your quick response. I don't mean to be rude in any way, but for my own peace of mind, are you a medical professional or have any evidence that this is true?

I am the herpes community leader on this forum.
So the chances of it having spread to the genital area is slim? If the outbreak had just begun would it be possible?
Wven if your outbreak was fresh the odds arw extremely low. To put into perspective, the odds of that scenario spreading the virus to your genitals with an established oral infection is about the same as being struck by lightning. In other words you needn't give it a second thought.
So the only way I could get genital herpes through oral sex would be if he had an oral outbreak?
Is there anywhere I could read about this?? I would like to feel completely at ease about this situation
Even if he had an oral outbreak tbe odds are astronomically low. Again, you have oral hsv1. Having oral hsv1 gives you an almost immunity from getting it elsewhere. You are way over thinking this
What you are saying is that at this point I'd only be prone to genital HSV2, which would have to be contracted through intercourse?
Correct.
I really hope you are right. I am feeling more relaxed about this. Thanks for all of your responses.
