Since you live out of the US, the test results may indeed by different! I just don't know. If yours was HIGH, you can try to find out what that means, but I would surely confirm whatever test was done, given your history.

Well, I spoke with my doc today and she said that there was no numeric value to give me. She said that they base the results off of my blood testing 'HIGH' or "low" and mine was high. I told her that what ever test they need to do to get a numeric value, is the test they need to give me. So she said she would call me back and let me know what they can do. Also, I have read about the Western blot test, but I live over sea's and don't see how it is possible to get that test. Just thought I would let you know what is going on at the moment. I'll do whatever I have to do to get the numeric value for you. I really hate not knowing if I actually have HSV or not.
I see. Well, call and get that number. It is very important. If it falls between 1.1 and 3.5, you need a confirmatory test, like the herpes western blot from the University of Washington. That test can be ordered through Quest laboratories, a national lab.

I will try to contact my physician to get the numeric value ASAP. I was tested because I was pregnant and I had miscarried. After I found out I was miscarrying I was contacted by my doc and was told I tested positive for a different std which I had contracted from my husband. He hadn't been tested in a very long time, so he had no clue that he even had anything...So when my husband and I went back for a follow up ultrasound, I asked to be tested for ALL std's again, just to be on the safe side, and thats when my results came back with a positive for HSV-2. Thanks!
Try to find out the numeric value of your HSV 2 test that was positive. If the value is between 1.1 and 3.5, I would strongly suggest a false positive. Especially given your sexual history. Write me back with number, OK?
What was the reason that you got tested for herpes, if I may ask?
