Could we have herpes?

My husband had an affair  on July 23rd and when I found out about it I kicked him out. Well when he left he went to this womans house August 1st, he begged to come home on August 5th.  Well we talked and are trying to work things out. The woman calls us on August 8th and said that she hoped we both had herpes now because she has them. He swears that he used a condom the 3 encounters of sex that he had with her. He also says that they never made out and that he never performed oral sex. Well around August 12th he got what we thought was a pimple on his nose and it continued to puss etc and he kept picking and pinching at it, then another pimple appeared under that one. Now yesterday I started feeling sick with like the flu/cold. I looked inside my mouth today and my throat appears to be extremely red. On the right side I have what appears to be a cold/canker sore and on the left side I have a red dot. Neither of these are painful, I just am extremely exhausted and feel like I might be getting sick.  I went to my drs after I kicked my husband out and asked her to test me for any possible Std.  She did to an IGG and IGM test for herpes and both came out negative but when I called her back and told her the woman told me she had herpes she recomended that I get tested again in November. Should I be worried that we do have herpes or am I overworrying??

well There were no blisters or anything just redness and today after taking the diflucan yesterday and then doing the nightly treatment I would say its 95% better. The dr said really to just wait for the bloodwork.. I just wanted everyon elses opinions. I wish I could just say if we have them we have them and stop freaking out about it but I cant do that... Im a worry wart

it's unfortunate you self treated instead of waiting to be seen and getting a proper exam and testing. really nothing else you can do at this point.

Okay so this past Sat night my genital area had started to have a burning sensation I checked/looked on Sunday and it was really red down there, bu that was all I seen. I was assuming it was a classic old yeast infection so I went and bought some monistat and have been using that. It seems to give some relief. I called the drs yesterday and she prescribed me Diflucan and said if it doesnt work im just going to wait it out. Well yesterday afternoon I started my period... I have read that the burning around your period time is a known sign for herpes outbreak? Should I just assume that I have herpes??

I am so sorry about your situation. I went through something similiar. Just worry about yourself and find peace with yourself. If i were you, I'd get myself checked out in November as per your docs instructions and go from there. Dont worry about your husband and this homewrecker chick he is involved with.

Anyone who puts your health at risk is not worth it in my opinion. Herpes should be the least of your problems/ worries. Good Luck.

he would've already had symptoms if he had contracted herpes from her.

I totally 2nd petal's advice - hubby should be seen at a walk in clinic if he can't be seen at his regular provider until next month.

really, not much else we can help you with at this point. Have hubby be seen for his current symptoms and have him follow up properly with std testing at the proper times.  he can get tested for gonorrhea, chlamydia and ngu now. he'll need to wait until 6 weeks post encounter for syphilis testing. 3 months for herpes, hepatitis and hiv testing. if you resume sex with him before all his testing is completed, make sure it's protected sex.

don't obsessively look for symptoms genitally on yourself. Odds are he didn't contract herpes and your time and effort is better used seeing a marriage counselor and working through strengthening your marriage together than it is on a crotch watch.

So my question now, if his last sexual encounter with this woman was August 5th, if he contracted herpes from her, When would either of us get signs or symptoms? Ive been told the 1st outbreak is the worst and extremely painful, and that you usually dont just get 1 or 2 herpes during your 1st outbreak. Im still freaking out obviously

His symptoms are classic for a bacterial infection, not herpes. The nose is a very common place for a MRSA infection to occur - he needs to be seen much sooner than next month!

The risk of herpes transmission from even three times is incredibly low - don't confuse the act of your husband cheating with getting an STD. This assuming she truly has herpes.

At this point, your husband needs to be seen sooner than later - go to a minute clinic if need be. Bacterial infections can be much more serious than herpes!

I went to the Drs on Thursday August 25th because im so paranoid over the whole fact. I have a virul sore throat and I mentioned the whole herpes thing to the Dr again. She said there is nothing in my mouth that would make her believe I have herpes. I also asked her to check me down below and she said she didnt see anything down there. She gave me an anxiety med and told me to take it and go home and rest.. She also mentioned that with me being sick my immune system is low if I might by chance have them I would most likely have an outbreak soon.

The spot on my hubands nose is still there, when it was oozing fluid it was different shades of yellow/white and even green. His nose got red before what we think is a pimple appeared. we thought it was an under the skin pimple and took forever to come out.

Im still freaking out obviously

it's not likely he contracted herpes from her. He could, but odds are he hasn't.

your husband should be seen now while he has symptoms, not wait until next month.

Grace thank you so much that helps ease my mind a little bit. My husband has a drs appt next month, but he says he doesnt want to be a statistic and the woman just said that to me because she wants me to kick him out again. I did ask one of her friends though and they said that she does have herpes. What are the odds of him having herpes if he did use a rubber the 3 times they had sex and if he didnt have oral sex with her and if they didnt make out etc? thanks again

your husband should be seen and get a proper work up done. usually herpes lesions do not become puss filled and he needs to make sure he doesn't have a bacterial infection causing his current symptoms.  has he had a full std work up himself?

odds are what is going on in your mouth/throat isn't std related. see your provider for a strep culture if it gets worse.
