to greatly simplify it, hsv2 doesn't "like" the oral area. You can get infected there but the risk is low. Same with other std's, you can get them orally but the risk is low.  Honestly no obvious oral symptoms in the next week or so, no reason for any testing.

if you didn't have genital contact during this encounter, no risk for anything on your genitals.  if she didn't perform oral on you, no risk of contracting hsv1 genitally either.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, I went to the doc and he advised the same tht need to wait for symptoms... But when I read few forums i came to know the herpes can be asymtomatic... I am bit worried abt this.. During the event there were no genital contacts is there a chance a genital herpes can transmit and cause oral herpes??? if  so wht will be the symptoms just a cold sore on the lips or inside and outside the mouth... whether can i get any symptoms in my genitals too??
thanks for the help

A one time brief encounter is very low risk for herpes.

Have you ever been tested to know your herpes status to begin with? No symptoms means nothing.

Either way, if it truly concerns you, you can wait 16 weeks from this encounter to get an IgG type specific blood test. And of course, should you develop any symptoms, be seen. But really, it's a low, low risk.
