IgG test accurancy

Good day all,

I am a 26 year old male whose been diagnosed with kidney stones sometime in Dec of 2015. Since then i've been experiencing all sorts of uti"s on a regular basis. Recently after a sexual encounter one night my girlfriend began complaining of pains in her lower abdomen and started having a heavy discharge. At the time i was also treating a uti. A few days later she visited a doctor and was diagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease and have since been blamed for being unfaithful. I took it upon myself to have a comprehensive blood test done puttting all fear aside and the tests came back posistive for herpes 1 and 2 with a reading of 1.77 igG for type 1 and a reading of 1.25 igG for type 2. I have never experienced any symptoms of either of the two before but now maybe because of fear i feeling all sorts of burning and tingling sensations on my mouth and genital region. I am speechless and have not told her of the findings but plan to go again together with her and have a test done together. Can anyone please explain the rates how they are interpreted i am confused and feel as though my life has come to an end. would the rates increase please someone explain

The numeric value is essentially a confidence number. Meaning the higher the numeric value the more confident the test is that is saw antibodies. A low value means it saw something but it is not completely confident.
In your situation (now I'm spit balling from research and personal experience) you may likely have a long time hsv1 infection and don't get cold sores. This is very common and no big deal. I think it is doubtful you have hsv2 and the test probably caught some cross over from hsv1.
I would go and get another igg test in a week or so to see if it stays that way or goes to negotiate for hsv2. The hsv2 igg tests are very sensitive and only tests for a few protiens. Do that first then we will see what your next steps are. Statistically your odds of having hsv2 are 50% or less when the numeric value is that low.
Hope this helps

ok thanks id have it done soon but i want my gf and i to do it together. ever since her p.i.d diagnosis our relationship have been rocky. Im  not sure how much good this discovery would do for us but.....sigh...we'll see how it goes
Ok so its been almost 10 months now and i was finally able to built confidence to go get retested since things hve been looking up in my relationship. I went to another lab and had the type specific tests done. I observed that their ranges are different and are as follows:16-22 posistive for the igg (2) 0.8TO 1.1 posistive. So my hsv 1 results igg weee 156.59 which means im posistive as opposed to the 1.77 reading on my lest test which was also posistive but different ranges were used. Igm negative jus as the last test. Type 2 hsv igg results were 3.52 which according to the ranges given is negative as opposed to 1.25 igg on the other test which ranges were different but was positive based on the range. Igm negative as the last. So now im pos for hsv 1 an neg for hsv 2. Should i retest or become sastifiee with these new results?also my gf an i started back having sex and the night after approximately 18 hours later she began complaining about pains she had when she had a p.i.d. that is what led me to get tested initially and all stds an stis were done. So here we are again? We had oral and vaginal. What do you all think could be the cause or trigger of this? Can herpes cause that?
No need to retest. This test is conclusive. You have hsv1 and do not have hsv2.
