As a last and final follow up to this question. 2 things really.
1) Does typical Genital outbreaks happen on both buttcheeks at the same time? I was staying in a hospitial for a few days last week and noticed that after being discharged (that day) I got home and was pretty darn itchy on the butt with serveral (30-50) little dots around my buttchecks that itched. I don't know if it was because the room was hot I did a lot of sweating laid on my but even more of the time and there was a while in between baths (a day and a half at least because they never told me I could shower and meds kept knocking me out). I was on several antibotics and anti nausea meds including some pain meds (morphine).
2). The test at this point is going to be longer then 16 weeks but I am assuming from your previous thread and your response this 16 weeks is more just to "prove" that my 12 week was correct and something optional as 12 weeks is good since (as you stated in your first response) I should seroconvert faster.
Okay Terri that does it for me. When I get your responses here consider me out of your hair and on to doing other better things with my time.
First, I am sorry to be late in posting back. We started a HUGE herpes medication study in our clinic three weeks ago, and I'm working very long hours. Please forgive me.
1) The HSV 1 antibody test misses almost one of 10 infections.
2) I'm not clear that waiting to test again or testing again now will make a difference. If the test is missing antibody, it just is.
3) I feel certain that as closely as you are looking, and the fact that you are negative for both HSV 1 and 2, you would have noticed symptoms consistent with herpes with a true primary infection. I do feel that your 12 week test is very good, but I recommend 16 weeks wait for my patients. You could test once more, and if it is negative, stop testing.
4) the sky is blue because spring and summer are coming and blue goes nicely with green.
