Do my symptoms suggest herpes?

I've been doing a lot of research regarding herpes and what symptoms of it could be. They typically depict them as painful clusters of lesions filled with fluid that eventually form scabs.

So a few days ago I had (protected) sex with this guy. He said he was clean and so was I. I found out after we got together that his ex had had herpes however, he (the guy I got with) said that he did not have it.

Two days after the fact, I notice two spots on my inner thigh and butt. They are sliiiigtly puffy but mostly flat, tinted red in color and circled by a thin ring of what looks like flakes of dead skin. They are about 1cm in diameter at the largest. What I'm trying to get at is that they don't look like anything I saw online.

I also have been experiencing a pretty cold/flu like stuffed nose and coughing and fatigue, however I had been having subtle sinusitis symptoms for the last few months so idk if they're related.

I am going to see a doctor tomorrow but this is really freaking me out and I'd appreciate insight; especially considering how frequent false positives and negatives are with this STD.

False negatives is not a real concern for hsv2.

The symptoms you describe are most assuredly not hsv. The flu like symptoms that can accompany a primary outbreak is. Fever, swollen groin lymph nodes and body aches. Not stuffy nose or sore throat....etc.
The spots are not herpes lesions. Please keep us posted on what your Dr has to say.

Your odds of contracting hsv from your protected exposure is nearly zero. Even if he has hsv2
