Hello Grace!
I've always had HSV 1 (cold sores) and he has never had a single sore in his life. We were both virgins, so HSV 2 is out of the game. My aunt told me the same, that he would've already showed symptoms. He hasn't showed any. Ever.
I'm struggling with this because I don't know if he has to actually inform future partners. If he does and doesn't have anything, it will be terrible and just unnecessary. If he doesn't, and he DOES have something, then that'd be pretty unlucky.
Should we just relax?
Thank you for your response!
if your bf had contracted hsv1 genitally from this incident, he would've had symptoms within 1-3 weeks of the encounter.
Odds are that neither you nor your bf have ever been tested for herpes to know your fill status. Well worth you both seeking out testing to see if either of you have hsv2 as well as to see if he has hsv1 already and just doesn't know it. If he tests + for hsv1 and can't recall symptoms either orally or genitally, safe assumption he has it orally.

Yes, I already know that but I wouldn't want my boyfriend to have it genitally, even if it's not a big deal. I'd just like to know if he does, I need some kind of peace of mind.
Most adults eventually get HSV1. Whether by kissing at Christmas parties or sharing a glass with a family member at a picnic. It's just part of life. And most people who have HSV1 never get a noticeable cold sore, and even fewer are bothered by it genitally. Why are you worried about HSV1 at all?
