One well done study showed that about 20% of folks don't get ob's, the other 80% do but not everyone recognizes the signs of herpes being active. Obvious and painful blisters as a symptom is actually not the norm for symptoms.
the herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com is a terrific resource that is free to read online or print out at home. there also is a wonderful patient counseling video on the same site you can watch too. I recommend them both for both you and your partner.

Your outbreaks maybe not happen or be so mild you don't even notice them. There are people that can go years without a single outbreak.
Does everyone with the virus have outbreaks? The doctor said it's possible to never have one, is that true?
once he gets his results, come back and post that update to this post and I can advise you more :)

your partner will need tested to see what their status is. once you know that, you'll be able to figure out what precautions to take together, if any.

This was my yearly set of STD testing. I do have a regular partner. I was negative last year. I've had no outbreaks or problems? What do I do now? Wiill i have outbreaks? Can I give it to my partner If I don't have outbreaks?
then you do have hsv2. you weren't just exposed.
I know that's not the info you wanted to hear but it's better to know that you are infected so you can take precautions than it is not to know.
What caused you to get tested?
Do you have a partner? if so, have they been tested?
The herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com is a terrific resource for learning more. There is also a wonderful patient counseling video there too to watch. Both are free and well worth looking at.
keep asking questions!

She told me hsv2 higher than 5.0
there's no such thing as just being exposed to herpes, you either have it or you don't. I can best help you if you call, ask them to read you your results, write them down and post them here. All I need to see are the actual numeric results - ie hsv1 igg 4.4 and hsv2 igg .34 or whatever they are. Then I can help you figure out what to do next :)
