Early herpes symptoms and next steps

Hello,

Looking for a little advice on whether I might be showing symptoms of genital herpes and what the next steps are at this point. I'm a 28 y/o male, circumcised with no STI history. Today is day 10 on this timeline:
Day 0 - a few minutes/messing around of unprotected vaginal sex with new partner that claimed to have no STIs
Day 2 - started to get sore throat
Day 5 - sore throat mostly resolved
Day 6 - unprotected vaginal sex with same person
Day 7 - visited doctor for chlamydia urine test, had normal temperature and blood pressure
Day 8 - began to notice tingling sensation on scrotum. no other symptoms such as fever, bumps, rash, pain when urinating, etc appear to be present by my inspections.
Day 9-10 - tingling sensation has persisted. It is not painful and does not feel like burning. It is slightly itchy at times. It comes and goes but it more often present than not. have been looking closely for bumps/cysts, but haven't seen anything around the genitals, although I did notice a few new pimples scattered around my back. Test results from day 7 have yet to come back.

I would like to know if this is possibly consistent with an STD (esp. herpes) in terms of symptoms and timing. I would also like to know if there are any tests that can be done now or in the near future, or other evidence to look closely for, that will help me determine what's going on.

Thank you!

Like i said the scrotum is not a place for herpes as is protected by the testcles from touching friction rubbing. Tingling in that area could be a deferred hemorrhoid issue or prostate issues as those nerves are all contected.

Thanks very much for your response. The tingling sensation seems to be fading. I'm keeping an eye our for lesions/blisters, which I believe would follow this tingling, although as you mention, tingling is not a known prodrome of a primary episode. I'm still concerned because this sensation was out of the ordinary. If anyone has thoughts on what it could be, I would appreciate it. Finally, from my understanding, I would have to wait several months for an effective blood test for hsv1/2.

Thanks

Hi, tingling is a prodrome symptom of someone who already has herpes and is a sign of a pending outbreak and can be used as a tool predicting them. So if your question is the tingling from a recent infection from her, the answer would be no. Also the scrotum is not a place for a new infection to appear as does not make friction rubbing skin to skin as thats what is takes to become infected. Any outbreaks for a recent infection would be more on the shaft. Nothing you mention send red flags for a recent infection of herpes but since your sexually active you might want to confirm your status with a blood test.
