Equivocal Test Result... Help!!!

I got tested for herpes a couple months ago even though I've never had symptoms. I got tested for everything just for some peace of mind. Everything but the herpes test came back negative. My HSV-2 result came back equivocal at 1.04. I haven't gone back to get rested yet.

I've been with the same person for 11 months now, and before this hadn't been with anyone for over a year. When I got tested I had had sex recently, but neither of us have had any symptoms.

What are the chances of the new test coming back positive?

get your partner tested first. an equivocal is negative so if your partner is negative, you know you didn't recently contract the virus so no need to repeat your testing if that is the case.

I'm planning to go back and get retested, I was just wondering if you had an idea the chances of it coming back positive since the equivocal was so low and neither of us have had any type of outbreak or symptoms.

your partner needs tested to know their own status. you can't determine if you need additional testing until you know their status. if they are negative, no need for more testing. if they are +, then you'll need additional follow up testing.
