Did I contract Herpes VIrus?

So, I had sex with a guy that I've known for a year. We had sex twice in one night, both times protected, but obviously.. the oral part was not. Had sex on 9/15 and 9/17 I had a bad case of flu like symptoms (sore throat, chills, fever, sore neck, etc). This lasted 3-4 days and it got better. I got a message from his ex gf stating he had herpes type 2/ HSV2, so she advised that I get tested. My question is-

1. Did I contract the virus orally because I had flu like symptoms?
2. Is it possible to contract hsv2 orally?
3. If I have no outbreaks, blisters or sores in my genitals or orally, does that mean there's a chance I may have contracted it?

I don't know. I'm worried and got tested at the 2 weeks mark and came out negative, but I got tested again which is at the 6 weeks mark now and waiting for results. But, is 6 weeks also too soon to test again?

if you have symptoms, be seen promptly for a proper exam.

Hi Grace, so now, I just noticed that in between my butt crack, closer to the butt hole, I have raised skin and there seems to be a rash. It's not very red, but I'm not sure if it will get worse cause I just noticed it now. I don't know if this is from too much wiping because I've been going number 2 a lot, but I always go number 2 quite often and don't really notice a rash. My question is, is this a herpes initial out break? I don't have any sores or bumps, but it looks like a ezcema rash, but very mild. Doesn't feel tingly nor does it hurt, but it itches a little but mild mitching. Is this or could this sounds like a outbreak?

I know that I still have to wait at least 3 months to get tested for herpes antibodies, so that's why i'm afraid it could be. This waiting game is hard.

no reason to think these symptoms are oral herpes going on.

Also, another red tiny dot appeared on the other side of my chin. Is this a herpes outbreak? It's really tiny, and it's red.  When you press down it kinda hurts and I tried popping it and no white stuff comes out (like it's supposed to)- just some clear liquid and bleeding. THe first tiny red bump seems to be healing and it's only less than 24 hours. Could you explain ?

I obviously can't really get an accurate blood test done because it's too early. I'll have to wait till end of december....

I was wondering, can you catch hsv2 orally?
Yesterday, I noticed a pimple like bump was appearing under my chin because I could feel the pain when pressing down on my chin then this morning I wake up, and I have a small red back appearing an inch below my bottom lip.
The red bump looks like a pimple, so I started picking it, then realized what if this is my herpes outbreak?
The red bump does bleed and it does have clear fluids coming out when I pick it, so is this herpes?

not likely he has hsv2 orally to transmit it to you.

Could he have given it to me on my genital area because he went down on me orally unprotected?

not a large percentage of people who have hsv2, have it orally. you've had no symptoms so no real reason to suspect that you've contracted it orally.

Well, as soon as I found out and asked him about it, he stopped talking to me and responding. I know for a fact he's positive for hsv2 because of not communication and the fact he lied to me about other things.

I'm just concerned that although I may not have anyblister or sore symptoms, I may have contracted it because I heard some folks never have an out break.

Well, I got tested because i'm paranoid, and if i'm clear that means I didn't get any STD from anyone previously, so if I wait a few more months and test again and if it comes back with something, then i'll know it's him. That's why I got tested, but what is your experience so far?
Can you get hsv2 orally? and I rarely get sick, so ... i'm just wondering how I got so sick afterwards. Do ppl usually have to break out in order to say you have hsv2?

most times the flu really is just the flu. you didn't have any obvious lesions to suspect that you contracted herpes either orally or genitally.

did you and your partner discuss std's and testing?  have you asked him if he even has hsv2?

you need to wait until 3 months post encounter for herpes igg blood testing to be accurate.
