Am I having Herpes?

I was in a stripclub recently and was drunk. Struck a deal with a cute looking stripper and I had completely protected sex with her. I fingered her for some time.. Later, she gave me a BJ with the condom on.. I then threw away that condom and put on a new one and had intercourse for about 30secs probably. Then I withdrew. Guilt came over and I stopped everything there.

I was so scared that I went to get a STD test done the very next day. I was tested for Gonorrhoea and Chlamydia with a swab and it came back negative. After 3-4 days I developed an itching on the outer skin of my penis and now in the inside of my penis as well. Again a urine test was done after 4 days and the results in that came negative for GC and chlamydia.. but the itching sensation seems to be present still.
The lady told me that she had a complete test about 10 days back and that she came negative for herpes, HIV and every other STD.. But I am really scared.

Now it has been two weeks and I am experiencing burning sensation in my penis while urinating and also on the skin of my penis. I am not circumcised. So I actually feel like the inside of my outer skin is burning crazily. It has been going on for about 3 days now. And since today I am experiencing pain in my testicles. The pain is starting in bottom of my right testicles and spread through my leg sometimes. I am also having discomfort in my lower abdomen. Could I have contracted Herpes? Does Herpes develop even without giving blisters?

Can her vaginal fluids that I touched, cause some STD?? While wearing the condom, if the vaginal fluid had touched the condom, could it lead to any problems? This was my first ever time and I am also scared that I might have worn the condom wrong. I am losing sleep over this. My doctor says he can't find anything unusual and suggested me to an urologist. But I am not able to get an appointment for another week. Can you please help me?

Thanks Terri. The symptoms are all still there. I am hoping that it goes away after I am done with the course on Cipro. Also the pharmicist advised me to stop lifting weights and working out till I complete Cipro since it may give tendonitis.

With prostatitis, it is normal to have some testicular discomfort and also some abdominal discomfort.  I think you can put the STD issues aside now, honestly.

I checked with my urologist and this is precisely what he concluded as well. He examined my prostate and came to this conclusion. But my urine analysis seems clean though. He said it could be prostatis and has prescribed Cipro for 30 days.

Could this be from the incident? Can I still be conclusive that this is not a STD?
I am also having a lot of discomfort around my scrotum and my lower abdomen. Little bit worrisome.

Sorry for asking so many questions. It is just that I am getting a bit too anxious..
Thanks for your patient replies Terri!

Its possible that you have some prostate involvement, I really don't know, but if you did, you would need different antibiotics for a longer period of time.  I would advise checking back with the urologist.

Hi Terri,

Just a follow up of what happened with my urologist. He asked me to take the course of Doxy and I did that. The burning sensation etc seemed to vanish totally. But the redness on my penis still exists. My PCP advised me to use Lamifil on it and wait for about 2-3 weeks for that to clear up.
It has been exactly one week since the course of Doxy ended and I am again getting a burning/pricking sensation inside my penis. I am able to feel it clearly and sometimes it feels like something is blocking while I urinate. It has been there for 4 days now continuously.  Can you please advise what I should do and why this might be happening again? I thought everything was fine but this is getting worrisome.

Please please tell me what I should do.

Thank you.

I believe it is, yes.  I would mention your allergy to the pharmacist and ask this question of them, this is their area of expertise, more than mine.

Dear Teri,

One final question. Rather a clarification. I went to get the Lotrimine Cream. Apparently there were two Lotrimins. One with Clotrimazole in it and other with butenafine hydrochloride in it.
I am allergic to the Imidazole group of compounds when taken internally. And I believe that clotrimazole belongs to that group. So I thought I should not use and exchanged it for the Lotrimin cream with butenafine hydrochloride. But it says, do not use for vaginal yeast infections. Does that mean that I should not apply on the penis as well? or is it ok to apply on the Penis head? Please let me know.

Thank you

Dear Teri,

Thanks for the response. So for now, I am feeling a little better that I am not having anything. I shall take one course of Doxy and hope that everything clears up. And just to make sure everything is alright, I plan to take a blood test on the 6 week and 3 month date.

Please do let me know if you recommend anything else.

Thanks a lot once again!!

The condom allergy could irritate the urethra enough to cause a little burning with urination.  I have no concerns if you touched her vagina before putting on the condom.
I think your urologist  has the best perspective on what's going on with you.  Doxycycline is kind of an old treatment, vs. azithromycin, but it works for urethritis, just a lot more effort to take a week's worth of medicine vs. a single dose of azithromycin, but perhaps his experience is better with doxy.

Dear Teri,

Thanks for the reply again..

I was able to get an appointment in a vacant slot today with my urologist and this is the update from what he said.

He said it is unlikely that I might have caught herpes.. But I still have the pricking burning sensation while urinating and also the penis head redness has not reduced.. In fact, it does hurt a bit today. Apparently there was a trace of blood in the urine sample they took today.. He says, it may be some kind of urethritis or yeast infection.. Has asked me to take doxy for a week and suggested the lotrimin cream that you suggested.. If the problem persists even after that, then I am supposed to go back to him..

Also he said that the latex condom allergy is possible which he says will show up after 10 to 14 days. Today the pricking sensation is pretty prominent. I going to start the course of Doxy from today. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Can I ask you, if the latex condom allergy can cause such pricking burning sensation while urinating as well? Also, one more thing I wanted to ask was, say I had touched her vaginal fluids and then the condom before wearing them on. Then is there a possibility of catching any STD?

Please let me know what you think about my urology appointment and if you don't mind, can you please please clarify my doubts.

Thanks a million.

You wouldn't develop more oil glands on your penis due to a sexual encounter.
Its really hard to say about the color change on the penis.  I think when you're looking at your penis repeatedly for differences, you lose perspective.  I would venture to say that you've lost perspective as well, and its going to be hard for you to accurately sort out normal from abnormal at some point.  I thing the discomfort around the scrotum and abdomen is probably not related, but of course, if it is really significant, it should be evaluated carefully.

Lets see how the urologist appointment goest, and go from there.

Dear Teri,

Thank you for the detailed reply. I also thought if I should get the tests done again. But the doctor insisted that we have already done too much and that we should tone it down a bit. So I am actually having no options except to wait for the urologist's appointment.

But like you said, the anti-fungal cream was tried out. The doctor gave me the 1% Econazole Nitrate cream to apply on the inside of my foreskin. I did that and that is when the burning and the redness on my penis increased drastically. I applied it just for one time and I just stopped it. That burning has reduced today only after 4 days. But still my penis seems sensitive and red. I also thought if I might be sensitive to the Latex. But is it common for the latex sensitivity to show up after two weeks?

Actually, today (15th day) after exposure, the burning has toned down a bit and the reddishness on my penis head has reduced. But I still see reddishness on my penis some purple discoloration on the head which I don't know if it was there earlier or not. And there are white spots as well, which I am not sure if they were there earlier. My previous doctor told me that they were just oil glands and they are normal. Is it possible to have developed more oil glands after the encounter?
Also, do you think the discomfort around my scrotum and lower abdomen are not major signs of anything? Because I guess I might have had it even before. Though it was a little bit more prominent 3 days back, when the burning was intense.

I am sorry that I am typing so much in here. Please do let me know what you think.
I am very thankful for your detailed reply.

Your STD tests were done too early after the encounter to be considered accurate.  But it is good news that your partner was recently tested, IF you believe her.  Its difficult to do too much wrong with a condom if it covers your penis fully.  You could get it on inside out but it would still offer protection.  I think it is unlikely to you have acquired an STD in this situation, actually, but I sure can't promise that.
Have you tried any antifungal medicine on this area?  Like Lortimin or something similar?  I think while you are waiting for your visit with the urologist, I would try the antifungal cream.  Another possibility is that you have some kind of sensitivity to the latex in the condom, the timing is right for that.
