you are just as contagious whether your igg is 2.2 or 20.2. makes no difference.
when you are performing oral on a partner, know their hsv1 status too. if they have hsv1, no need for any precautions other than ifyou have any signs of a cold sore, don't perform oral on them. if they don't have hsv1, discuss together whether it's worthwhile to use barrier precautions for oral sex or not. it's a decision to make together.
confirm your hsv2 status so you know if you have to be worried about that or not.
Thanks for the response I really appreciate it.... I will do the WB test to confirm these results. What is the likelihood of me spreading the HVS 2 if my levels are so low through oral sex? I am a lesbian and oral sex is the primary way of sexual intercourse and this HVS 2 is concerning me in terms of spreading it to any potential partners... I am terrified to have sex I don't know to spread the virus and I am also ashamed and embarrass to share my status with an future partners.. I feel lil I will never be in a relationship due to having HVS 1 & 2.
correct - you have a low positive and will need to confirm it with additional testing. you need to wait at least 4 months post encounter to get a herpes WB blood test.
your hsv1 has been positive all along so odds are you really do have hsv1. 1 out of every 2-3 adults in the US alone has hsv1 and most don't get obvious cold sores to know that they are infected.
