i have a cold sore
Hello There, i developed a cold sore on the top of my lip about a week ago now, its pretty much healed however i had sex with my partner last night and would like to ask a couple of questions.
my partner gave oral sex but he was kissing me beforehand...is there a possibility that he could pass on the virus to me? he only did it for about 10 seconds and didn't really touch me with his lips..
also is saliva affected by your cold sores? even if it is pretty much healed? x

hi whatever you do do not kiss or perform oral sex on someone while you have a cold sore that is how i got my genital herpes someone who had a cold sore and performed oral sex on me :(
Hi, you need a herpes test to confirm if in fact you have herpes. But to answer your question, if you have had oral hsv1 for quite some time, it cant be passed to your genital area as you are basicly immune to contracting it the same type in another area.
