confused

hi
In September I decided to have an ETS Panel, it included a Herpes 2 IGM and IGG test, my Igg test gave a result of .2, the igm 2.1 test.
I went to the doctor and he gave me VALTREX for 10 days, he said to prevent an outbreak.
5 days after finishing the treatment I repeated the tests and the result was IGM negative with .39 and IGG negative with .27, I assumed that the medication had influenced.
At the end of October I repeated the IGM again giving positive and negative IGG with 0.19.
I assumed that then if I had Herpes.
In April 2023 I took the tests again, this time only IGG and it was negative, 5 days after that test I repeat IGG with a result of .29 and IGM with a result of .59.

I don't know what to think right now, do I have or don't I have?
Are you taking multivitamins, can that slow the production of IGG antibodies?
oh am i really negative?
Should I repeat the studies?

I would appreciate your help, these have been very difficult months.

Totally agree with this. The IgM is not reliable at all

The only test that matters is the IgG, which is negative.

Were you testing because of symptoms? If you've had no symptoms, I would consider you definitely negative.

No, no symptoms that you can identify as HSV.
I also don't remember having a labial HSV.
I have repeated the tests because I have been very anxious and I do not want to put anyone at risk.

Can I trust that I am negative?
I don't know if I should repeat the test.
If it's been 12 weeks since your last possible exposure, you do not need to repeat the test and you can trust that you are negative.
I haven't had sex since August.

In January I put some Vitacilin (for other reasons) overnight near the back of my vulva, the next day in the morning it itched while cleaning and I scratched very hard causing some blood to come out ( It was only in the area where vitacilin fell, which from what I read can cause irritation).
A day before I had checked the area and I didn't notice anything unusual.
Could it be a symptom or could it be caused by the ointment?
The burning disappeared after applying the crotimazole cream and has not returned.
That doesn't sound like herpes. If it disappeared after applying the cream, it sounds more just like irritation.

That was in January, and your most recent IgG test was 4 months later, which was negative. That is conclusively negative. You can be assured that it wasn't herpes. :)
Can't the antiviral that I took a few months ago continue to affect the April tests?
Those would already be reliable negatives, right?
Thanks for your help, I was too worried
No, you only took it for 10 days at least a few weeks after exposure.

For an antiviral to have any possible impact on testing, you'd have to be on it for several weeks from the time you were exposed. You've had 7 months off antivirals to develop antibodies, which only takes 12 weeks.

Nothing else impacts testing.

You really can trust the IgG.

Thanks for your help.
I read you in some questions until I decided to ask mine, I'm glad you're the one who answered.
And also thanks to Buntyyyy789 for his first contribution.
We're happy to help. :)
One last question, one night before the first test in April I took an anti-flu.
That wouldn't cause a false negative either?

Sorry, I tend to think a lot.
Nope. Nothing except an extended use on antivirals would.
The truth causes me a bit of uncertainty about the IgM results. what could cause them? I try to find an explanation to be as calm as possible on this subject. I wish I hadn't done the IgM
Your questions have been fully answered, and you were advised that the IgM is not a reliable test.  As you were advised, you do not have herpes and you should move on from this event.

Your IGG is negative repeatedly. IGM is a waste of a test as it is not reliable at all. Have you had cold sores? If yes please get them swabbed. If not I don't think you have HSV
