Well, here is the final/final results. My WB is negative. Terry Watson was great, I am in the process of writting a review now.
I also want to thank you Grace for your help.
Bob
also you might want to consider writing a letter of complaint to the clinic of the provider you saw . I'd include the information from the cdc 2010 herpes guidelines on the false positive issues in it too. changes really do get made when patients complain especially when they are valid complaints. If you hadn't sought out information on your own to go for additional testing, you would've treated unnecessarily as well as potentially sought out a hsv2+ partner in the future and risked actually contracting hsv2 d/t thinking you had it and taking no precautions. It's grounds for a malpractice complaint against the clinic and they'd be doing themselves and their patients good to get some additional education on herpes testing!!
Well, I just got the result of the HSV Immunoblot (1,2) test and it was negative. At this point I am going to call the Dr I went to and give him a earful. I also had blood taken for the WB test yesterday.
I guess the message to all is False (low) Postives happen. And go directly for the WB test after the IGg.
Thank you all for the help and support. ,
Bob
Grace, it is amazing and to be honest I was surprised on the lack of knowledge this guy had. To be honest he acted like he did not ever care. Just to clarrify, he was someone I got out of the United Health Care website.
I will keep you all updated, it is really important that these forum exist to help explain things.
Have a nice weekend and holiday.

As far as me and my wife, we are working it out and I am hopeful that we are going to stay together despite my behavior.
it's quite common for medical providers to poo poo the web in general because there are a heck of a lot of very unhelpful forums out there. This forum benefits from 3 of the best std knowledgeable researchers in the US on our expert forums as well as I'm smarter than the average bear when it comes to herpes and have worked hard to be recognized as a herpes patient advocate. Advice you receive here is very accurate and up to date - in fact more up to date and accurate than what most providers are aware of themselves. If your provider spent 10 minutes reading the 2010 cdc herpes testing guidelines, they'd quickly realize that the information you had was more accurate than what they had themselves at this point. ( ok getting off my soap box ).
follow up with westover heights as needed. odds are you really don't have hsv2. we've already discussed how the activity with others isn't a risk for herpes. your wife getting tested would give you helpful info also. odds are she's never been tested for herpes herself.
Ok I screwed up again and the test I ordered is the Focus IB test. I am a smuck.
I just called Terry's clinic and will schedul the WB test.
More to come, I am still learning.
And yes I little poorer
Bob
She has no been tested, but I did tell her. The think that is amazing is how little Dr know. So me IGg test come back with a lower number and he has the nurse tell me that I do not have HSV-2 but I have the antibody so I was exposed. OK, from what I read this is not HIV. You have it or not.
So I ended up paying for the WB test out of my pocket because the Dr would not order it for me. I have learned alot, BTW the Dr crapped on this forum.
Stay tuned to next weeks results. My guess is that I waited 30 days between IGg test I would be below the .91 mark .
Thanks guys for the help, I just hope this helps others
Your only risk her would be sex with your wife then. Has she been tested to find out her own herpes status? If she is negative for HSV2, and she's been your only sexual partner, then you know you're negative.
Hand jobs are safe sex, s grace already stated.
I just got my results and now it is 1.23 from another lab. Would the WB be best?
Thanks for the note, the only sexual activites outside relations with my wife has been 2 hand jobs in the last six months. The new results from the IGg will be in today and I will post to help others. My Dr wanted to wait on the WB until todays results on in. I have already told my wife, once I know the results it is time to move on and live life. I am done worring over something that I now cannot control.
Bob
Be sure it's been 4 months since the encounter in which you had intercourse to get the WB, otherwise you'll be wasting your time/money. That's why grace asked how long it had been since you last had sex (which you didn't answer). It can take that long for antibodies to form and thus be detected with the WB.
Grace, I decided to have the Dr change the test to a WB. Thanks to this site I knew what to ask his nurse to do. I greatly appreciate the help.
Bob
Thanks again for your help. At this point I will see what the next IGG test results shows. If that is the same, do I just go for the WB ?
Thanks again for your help,
Bob
hand jobs are not a risk.
if they didn't use the dildo on themselves and then on you, that wasn't a risk either.
Sorry, no she has not. I think she has HSV 1, but she has had no other partners but me. My outside activity has been handjobs and dildo play. That is the honest truth.
Thanks for your help,
Bob
Grace, FYI - I went today to a Dr for another test from a different lab. Stay tuned I will know opn Thursday.
you didn't answer my question.
has your partner been tested to know their status?
I have only had intercourse with one person. Only other activity was a few handjobs.
how long prior to testing had you last had sex?
