questions regarding herpes

I had unprotected oral sex with someone who has hsv-2. Three weks later started having a tingy stinging pain on the tip  of my penis. I went to the doctor three  weeks after and had blood drawn for std testing. I got my results back stating i was postive for both hsv-1 and 2,the score was 1.48. The doctor said it the test showed it was a old strain and the discomfort im feeling isnt related but i wasnt offer or prescribed any medication. Should i wait three month and take other test?

Hi. your test was too early and actually your doctor is not correct saying your positive as that 1.48 falls into the false positive range in need of retesting. And i dont believe you had a 1.48 for both eactly the same humber. Just doesnt happen. I suspect you had a combination test to please confirm if this was a type specific.
Also if they have hsv2 its almost certanly genital so them giving you oral would not be any risk.
