hi, my test said that i tested positive for HSV-1 but ive never had a cold sore in my life or had any kind of blisters or anything but i have had genital problems and disconforts so im guessing that i have hsv1 in the genitals but the reports ive read have said that hsv1 is mainly orally so im confused and all of this is to me. also can my partner only contract it oraly or since i have hsv1 can he get it from kissing? im confsed!
Hi
1. What kind of the test you had? was it IGG type sepfc blood test?
2. If you had IGG test then its not possible to find the location of the infection unless you get any sore/lesion instanly take swab test because the virus is very active for first 48 hrs.
3. Most people who have this herpes virus dont have visual
then its pass on to the genital but very low case.( this virus can pass on though you dont have sore/lesion its called viral shedding which the virus present on the skin with any symptoms)
5. Your partner can get infected by kissing you but low risk. Half human
most adults test + for hsv1 whether they've had obvious cold sores or not. The majority of people who have oral herpes, don't get obvious cold sores to know that they have it.
You have to be seen when you have genital issues for proper evaluation. If they see anything that looks like herpes they can culture them to find out if they are or not. You really can't assume that what is going on genitally is hsv1 without a + lesion culture. keep going back when your genital symptoms are there to try to get to the bottom of it all.
