HSV1 transmitted to genitals?

Ok well i've had cold sores as long as I can remember I usually get them before I'm going to be sick so it's kind of a warning. How ever I was with my girl friend and we were kissing and well I guess you would say were a little agressive when we have intercourse and anyways she bit my lower lip and ripped off my cold sore scab and I started to bleed. so we stopped and then continued. i'd say about thirty minutes lower she gave me oral. I was really worried I had contracted HSV2 due to some red bumps and them drying up and some what itching but she's the only person I've had sex with for probably about 5 months same with her and then it just clicked in my mind that she kissed me and gave me oral so the infection could of hit my penis? I remember doctors always told me to wash my hands before i used to the restroom because it can spread.

why don't you get some of that anti bacterial hand wash that doesnt need water and put it in your work vehicle?

you could never, ever wash your hands and you wouldn't transmit your oral hsv1 to your genital area dear. no idea why they are telling you that. sounds like a lack of education in general on herpes :(

poor hygiene has nothing to do with herpes dear.  sweating all day and such like you do does put you at risk for fungal infections in the genital area ( aka jock itch ) but not herpes.  oh and throw a pack of wipes in your truck so you can wash your hands before you eat at work!!!

I'm just saying, when I've gone to the doctor when they were covering my lip they said be sure to wash your hands prior to using the bathroom because it cuold spread "Down there", every doctor who worked at the place told me everytime I went. They also said being under alot of stress could cause a break out in different areas as well as poor hygiene. And to be honest I have had poor hygiene. I'm a concrete worker so I'm constantly sweating all day, theres no bathrooms on the job so you just go....and theres nothing really to wash your hands with. So I have touched my cold sore(s) at work and then touched my genitals. As soon as I get home I shower though. I'm not trying to lower the seriousness of the situation just saying

you won't get hsv1 genitally this way.  either your provider is under educated about herpes transmission or didn't understand your question.

you also already have it orally so it's incredibly unlikely you'd contract it even if your partner did have oral herpes herself to transmit to you.

call your local health department monday to see what your local low cost options are.

I'm gonna, I don't have health insurance though and money's tight right now. I called the doctor that my family and I've seen all my life and he said it's quite possible for it to spread through oral sex, especially since the cold sore on my lip was ripped open, which means the bacteria of it spilled out. Not to mention I've gotten oral alot in the past week and she kissed me prior to it. I've masturbated a once. I've heard Planned Parenthood does free testing but the closest one is 50 miles away and I have no car.

no, you won't spread your own oral herpes to your genital area. it just doesn't happen as well as there would never be enough virus on the hands and the kind of contact it takes while using the bathroom to transmit it anyways.

as I recommended the last time you posted about your symptoms, you need to be seen.  if you and your gf have never been tested for herpes ( it's not a part of routine std testing ), be sure to do so so that your bases are properly covered. you two can't make educated decisions about what precautions to take together until you know who has what.

please keep all your questions in your original post instead of making new ones. this is asked in our read before posting post located under the important announcements tab - thanks!
