HSV2 igg test 2-3 weeks post potential exposure?

Hi Grace
I came across a post back from 2010 where you had commented that about 50% of people would test positive 2-3 weeks post exposure to hsv2. Do you still stand by that? I know that general guidelines say 12 weeks and that other experts say about 6 weeks. I'm curious as I myself tested negative 2-3 weeks post potential exposure. Please see:

For additional details.

Thanks much in advance for your reply

the info you are asking about is actually only helpful if you test + at that point. testing negative at the 2-3 week mark isn't a reason to jump up and down with joy.

you have 60 days to continue to add to your post on terri's forum if you have further questions.

Lastly - my test was done at LabCorp and they used a igg ELISA kit. Not sure if that matters or change anything?

Sorry - I should probably include the old post that I was referring to:

Thanks again

I should add that your reply DOES NOT change my behavior/actions. Meaning I'm still going to take precautions probably even refrain from having sex at least until my 12 weeks test.
Thank you
