HSV2 strange symptoms

I am a 40 year old male who contracted hsv2 about an year ago and until I got diagnosed that it was something called hsv2, I had no idea about a large array of ridiculous symptoms that were wreading havoc with my body. To detail more- i don't get the typical bumps characteristic of hsv2 but I get a few sores that look like mouth ulcers around the genItalian area and genitalia.I experience intense itching when those sores break and I also feel strange crawling sensations around there at times. Most surprising and frustrating are the horrible aches and pains that manifest in all random parts of the body - lower or upper back, joints, weird feeling or pain somewhere inside stomach, genitalia, indigestion, flu like symptoms, burning urine sensation, malaise to name a few. Because all these symptoms were scary and I didn't know what they were, I had done all sorts of tests like scope, blood work, ultra sound of lower body, CT scan of the whole belly area, so on and so forth a year ago but found absolutely nothing.I was diagnosed with GERD and functional dyspepsia after I contracted hsv2 as well and so overall after the whole experience, I just feel that hsv2 is a condition that is least understood by medical science.Symptoms are extremely different for different people and the virus keeps mutating over time as far as I know.Does anyone have a similar story?

No surprise. You go to a ******* hospital and the docs there will ensure that they give all sorts of tests to ensure that they finish their target contribution to the hospital so that they possibly get an extra cut out if it. When I had hsv2 symptoms like burning pee, aches etc, the smart doc wanted to do a scope through my genitalia and also a CT scan in addition to detailed tests. Couldn't he have recognized the symptoms and just behaved like a human to a human?! Medical science used to be a totally service to humanity profession but now it has degraded to a torally commercial profession.. enough said.

My "atypical" symptoms started within days of my sexual encounter, along with the "classic symptoms". They are definitely from one and the same infection.

Why on earth would I suddenly have a weeping lesion on my knee only a month or two after initial HSV2 infection. I'd never had a weeping lesion anywhere on my body. I'm fit, athletic, don't drink or smoke, and otherwise totally healthy. It was so obviously connected, and yet two doctors told me I was wrong. I couldn't believe my ears.

It was a classic herpes lesion, except it was in a very "rare" location.

I was also told that it's "impossible" to have constant shooting pains in the backs of my legs. Meanwhile, there are all kinds of reports of such symptoms in medical articles online, as well as anecdotal reports online.

Very frustrating. I gave up on the docs in this respect.

Totally. No doctor ever seems to agree thay these are induced by the onset of hsv2 and am not sure why they are not more open about it. Am sure about my symptoms because pre and post that I am pretty normal which means all those symptoms must be related to this God damp virus

Oh, and yes, I agree--for a virus that is so common, the medical establishment has very little understanding of the virus.

I also get atypical symptoms. Have only ever had one "weeping" or blistering sore and it was as far down as the back of my knee so the doctor ! Otherwise, I tend to just get a pimple or three on my thighs or my hips or even up by my belly button. Malaise does accompany the outbreak on occasion, and regular shooting pains in my butt and down the backs of my legs persisted every day for a year, though they have subsided in the last couple of months.

Hey.  Ya i have had similar symtoms.  I havent had anything on my d*ck but on butt ive had/have pimples here n there on both sides. They hurt but arent  blistery kinds like what herpes looks like. Thing is i didnt have intercourse. Just frottage w another guy and some oral. Thot i was being pretty safe :( but now idk. Tested neg for stds that included hiv, gono, clamidia, syphillis and im vaccinated for hpv and hepatitis a and b so i dont think i can get that. Still i feel little bumps and am worried bout them. Havent had most of ur other symtoms tho cept maby a crawly feeling (almost all the time on my butt!) I actually thot it was crabs yuk but its not.  Dont get that feeling on my d*ck, no flu that ive noticed and no burning when i pee. Ive also been to a dermatologist who looked at  the pimples and gave me prescrip for a lotion and antibacterial soap. He said he was sure it was folliculitis, idk.  Weeks later  i still have random pimples and some pain but not constant. I go to my reg doc on fri. I guess i can handle having it but its the fact that id give it to someone maby that makes this so fkng hard. Im 24. All i knw is that ive never had unprotected intercourse ever. Oral ya, making out ya, but i thot that using condoms for sex was me being safe so id not get anything. Thats probly the most awful part. I feel sad bc i rly have tried to be safe and now maby it wont even matter. Ive read that hiv cant get in u frm having oral but im not so sure anymore. Maby these viruses r changing like u said.
