Herpes or Pimple?

On sunday I made out with a guy I've been seen but 3 or 4 days ago I noticed that I have a red swollen spot just above my upper lip. It hurt at first when it was forming and when I touched it it felt like there was a solid lump underneath but now it doesn't have that solid lump anymore. It doesn't burn, tingle or itch. Could it be a pimple forming or herpes trying to cause an outbreak?? It still red and kinda swollen

Yes. Lesions are not hard bumps under the skin. I get exactly what you describe from time ro time and they are pimples. Visious ones. Lol

The advice above is not really correct. For a primary outbreak you woukd not experience tingling or itching...etc. the first thing you would notice is the lesion forming.
Hsv lesions are superficial. Neaning on top of the skin. The hard lump you describe sounds more like a pimple and not a herpes lesion

The sign of an outbreak would include tingling, itching, and it would definitely spread. However it can be one simple cold sore, meaning HSV-1 oral. This is usually spread if the other person has a sore, but can be transmitted by saliva. It's sounds more like an ingrown hair, but to reassure yourself you can use over the counter treatment options such as lysine topical or abreva.

He didn't have sores or anything. And the redness and swelling didn't really spread. I just check it this morning and it seems less red and swollen after I applied some cream.

It also doesn't hurt when I touch it.
