Thanks for responding Grace. It makes sense, but since this is all so new to me, I wanted to ask to confirm. It's the "shedding" thing that made me ask this. Didn't even know that occurred, until I read about it last week.
With the estimated 60% of Americans having this disease, it is amazing more isn't said about it. I was pretty clueless!
No - it won't make her hsv1 infection "worse" , nor will it make yours "worse".

Thank you for your response to my question, Grace. Since she now has hsv1 (and assuming I have it too) I am nervous about peforming oral sex on her again. In my head, I am thinking that if she already has it, then it shouldn't matter at this point, BUT, I am wondering if I give her oral sex and I have the virus in my mouth (shedding) could additional oral sex trigger another episode of ulcer sores on her? I don't want to be the cause of more pain for her.
What do you think?

yes there's a good chance that you have hsv1 yourself even though you never experienced any cold sores. About 60% of adults in the US do have it.
If she never received oral sex before then yes it most likely came from you sorry to say. Nowadays saying you are a virgin doesn't mean you haven't fooled around a lot though so ask.
You can get herpes lesions anywhere in the entire boxer short area. Even if your tongue was no where near her anal area she can still have symptoms there.
