Herpes - Anal?

tvh
Hi

I had protected vaginal sex with a woman who has herpes.  There was never any penis/vaginal contact without a condom and the relationship has since ended.  However, twice in the past 6-8 weeks, I have had a rash around my anus and on my buttocks.  This rash is very red and later there tends to be some 'scabbing' (for lack of a better word) around the anus.  This is then followed by a very sore throat.  Could this be herpes?  There was never any contact with my anus, there was no oral sex either.  I have had cold sores in the past but nothing like this.  Is there a way that I can find a site that will show pictures of anal herpes because I had never even heard of it before reading this site.  Could anal herpes be caused by vaginal secretions running down the shaft of my penis and testicles and enter my anus that way?

Thanks

no, what grace is saying that it doesnt SOUND like herpes. go get checked out and even if its not herpes this doesnt mean you shouldnt seek medical advice. herpes is life long but manageable. but there arethings that are far worse than herpes, so if i were you, i would go to a clinic as a i did many times. it never turned out to be genital herpes for me, and nothing worse but it definitely eased my mind to get help from a practitioner. especailly one who specialises in sexually transmitted infections.

The best thing to do is to see your provider and have this looked at. it's most likely fungal but it could also be bacterial like strep b.
