taking daily suppressive therapy reduces shedding so that a partner is less likely to contract hsv2 from her.
unfortunately we don't have stats for same sex partners for transmission.
if you use sex toys, be sure to keep them separate ( e.g. if you use one on her, don't use the same one on yourself. you can also put a condom on the toy and change it inbetween partners ). when performing oral on her, decide if you want to only perform protected oral or not to protect you from contracting hsv2 orally.
keep asking questions!

Thanks for your reply.
To clarify: I've been tested, I'm negative to both. I'm not as worried about HSV 1 as I am with HSV 2. My husband has HSV1; I've never had a cold sore and when he does, we avoid kissing and cunnilingus. I've never contracted it and we've been together for 6 years.
I don't know if she takes daily suppressive therapy. If she's never had an outbreak, I don't know why she would. We haven't talked about precautions yet, that's what I was hoping to find out here...
What are the precautions that we can take to reduce risk? If she doesn't have an outbreak or any symptoms, what are the chances of me getting infected? I can not seem to find the data for protecting women from contracting herpes from women.
Any information would be appreciated.
you've been tested to know your status?
does she take daily suppressive therapy?
statistically 1 out of every 2-3 people you've kissed in a lifetime has hsv1 orally. do you typically worry about kissing someone?
have you two discussed what precautions to take together at all ?
