I have never heard it occur with HSV2. There can be issues with seroreversion and a test not picking up the infection but these are exceptionally rare for HSV2.
Obtain the Westernblot test and take the results as the truth of the matter and get on with living. If it detects HSV1 then it is much more likely that you have had that since your youth.
Hi Fleetwood, your last post to me you said my test results are pretty unlikely to change after 12 weeks. I was curious if you knew how common is it for people to have negative blood with a positive swab. Searching the web it seems as there are a lot of people who have experienced this. The PA at the clinic said he's never heard of that. The reason for my constant concern is for my family. I don't want to have sex with my wife if there is any chance of giving her an std. I'm still afraid to even kiss her or my kids. It's been over 17 weeks of constant facial itching around my nose eyes and mustache area. Not to mention the itchiness and mild burning around my groin area and inner thighs. Plus I just don't feel right. Am I a crazy man? Thanks again for anymore input you might have... Cheers
Thanks Fleetwood. I woke up to it and it was no longer a big whitehead. It was just flat and red as if I popped it a few hours ago but I didn't. I immediately showered at 6am and just figured a swab wouldn't work without puss or liquid. As I said before I've had mild burning and itching in groin area and inner thighs as well.
Thanks again
The test outcome is extremely unlikely to change post 12 weeks, but of course a test may help your peace of mind.
Burst or not, seek a swab as soon as feasible something like that emerges. What was inside this sore?
Hello, thanks so much for your previous insight.
I've got another question if you could help me out with it.
On Thursday I woke up to a white head on my penis half inch above where my last one was 7 weeks ago. I could not get to the clinic for testing it. When I got home sat from a job at midnight it looked like it expanded and was ready to blow. I would've got it swabed this morning Sunday but it already had burst when I woke up. This one had no pain but might have been a little itchy. Since my 12 wk hsv2 igg test was .2 would you recommend a different test at 6 mo?
Thank you very much
No you cannot transfer HSV1 in the way you describe.
There is no need for further testing. You are negative for HSV2 and will need to swab to identify genital HSV1. None of this sound herpetic at all.
Hi thanks for looking at my post. Like my previous post says, I did test negative 2 weeks ago at 12 weeks
.8 hsv1 .2 hsv2 but in 3 months the irritated/ itchy skin has not stopped around mustache nose eyes area and groin area. Just this weekend after working with very little sleep... Exhausted. I got a redish area in the mustache slightly raised but very intensely itchy around that area for 2 days now. Although its not the typical sore have you heard of herpes acting like that? So annoying.... The thing is I'm not so worried about it that I think I'm bringing on these thoughts really just want to move on. Also that sore I had on my penis that still shows a mark after over 4 weeks is also itchy on and off. She did not give me oral, I gave her. Is it possible that after kissing her ( 5min) giving her oral (2min) that I gave her - her own hsv1 and myself then went inside her infecting my genitals as well?
Thanks so much helping think this through!
Also I guess I should test again at 6mo in 10 Wks? Cheers
This doesn't sound like herpes at all. One persistent pus filled thing is almost never herpes. The testing confirms it isn't HSV2 and only a swab would really confirm genital HSV1.
It dos sound like a follicle or fordyce spot inflammation.
