26 year old male healthy with no history of skin diseases
August 2012 One night stand with a girl no protection who after 5-10 minutes of intercourse had a bad smell from her vagina. Stopped immediately and washed off.
12-24 hours later rash appeared left side near glands of penis it was inflammed but no issues outside of that.
1 week later no change went to ER diagnoses was tinea corpuris "ringworm" by visual. Prescribed bacetrin which took little to no effect and relieved none of my symptoms.
1 week later a perfectly dime sized circle appeared next to my rash it had no feeling felt like normal skin if i was blind i wouldn't even know it was there. The only thing about it was skin discoloration I'm a white male and it made my skin in that circle look like pale skin only in the circle at that time.
2 Weeks later my shaft became chaffed, cracked and flaky dry skin raw and i alos notice i showered twice a day and a couple of hours after sitting in a room temperature of 70 degrees my genital area would smell just sitting there and not sweating. I would be commando most of the time when this happened to help not sweat down there in which that still did not help.
Mid October I noticed a burning when I urinated so I immediately ran to the doctor and got a full panel with type specific HSV (IGG) tests ordered ( cause they don't do it unless you ask). everything came back negative except chlamydia.
Almost 8 weeks after exposure
HIV not detected
Syphilis not detected
HEP FULL not detected
HSV 1 1.70 positive
HSV 2 0.64 negative
Gonorrhea not detected
Chlamydia detected
Was put on doxy twice a day for two weeks but the day after i took my first dose I went to the ER for an unrelated issue they asked and I told them they gave me a one time dose to cure the chlamydia. After 10 days close to the end of October I went back for a "test of cure" which said I was cured.
All the time the rash is still there!
November my symptoms were still there from the chlamydia (burning during urination). Went to the doc she didnt know what it was and said give it time I left googled it and went to what I first saw Urethritis and it fit perfectly. Same day back to the doc and asked for the medicine to cure it flustered she gave it to me and for two to three weeks no issues. Then boom it came back but was worse in a sense.

Erectile dysfunction
Burning and tingling after urination for 30 min to 2 hours
Also an enoying tingling burning after ejaculation
My urethra now was so sensitive that I did not have to be fully erect to ejaculate as in I could do my business for around 2 minutes not get erect but already have those feelings to let it go. SMH
Decmeber comes and I go to inpatient treatment for my war related issues for 30 days. They did a full screen minus prostate I told them the story. They looked and said post syphilis outbreak or HSV 2. They started me on Acyclovir after drawing blood. 4-5 days later they stopped my treatment and said I would need to see dermatology as they had no idea what it was and my test again were negative for everything.
February 2013 go to derm says psoriasis gives me a cream that after two weeks wasn't helping.
March 2013 Start my first relationship since this mess started
Out of no where I deveolped Mollescum Contagiusm above my penis in the pubic area and there only, catch is had not had sex yet with my new girlfriend yet due to my worries.
Googled it, got my answer waited and in 2-3 months it went away on it's own.
Around June ish I had intercourse unprotected with my girlfriend. I made her aware before hand and after her visual inspection over those few months and even a doctor saying its no issue we moved forward we are married now and having our first child!
January 2014 I move to Germany for government purposes and bring all this up to my doctor here. After our visit he has done prescribed a cream for the itching which helped reduce 75% of the itching but i go through it fast applying 3 times daily but as soon as I sweat it itches. He conducted urine culture which has still after one week showed no results. He swabbed for trich which came back negative. I told him my symptoms were close to prostatitis so he gave me a prostate exam with no serum sample however when he hit my prostate and started a slight massage I could feel something moving through my urethra of a liquid substance and it burned more then any urination experience kinda made my eye twitch from the pain.
After all this he said I'm going to give you valtrex as a test FOR cure!
I asked him why are they beating a dead horse on this herpes over a red mark that has been there for 1.5 years and has not went away has just remained right there with the skin discoloration!!!
Here are my issues after all these tests and visiting the doctors for 1.5 years I am still dealing with the following...
Burning after urination with penis tingling mainly after urination.
Burning worse after ejaculation with heavier penis tingling lasting for about 30 min-1.5 hours after.
Slight pain in testicles which isn't unbearable just uncomfortable at time it comes and goes
Itchy groin area with same markings from 1.5 years ago
Slight tingling in urethra when urinating
Some times after doing nothing and just sitting there the left side of my penis gets a weird tingly sensation that goes away in an hour or so which also comes and goes
Erectile dysfunction

Still have premature ejaculation thats off and on
Things I haven't experienced
First I have never been sick over a week and my sickness is like clock work as in every October I have to get my flu shot which for us is mandatory. A week or so after that shot I get sick and I don't know why as to most people say they don't but I have always been this way at any rate outsidde that I don't typically feel sick.
I absolutely have never had blisters or ourbreaks anywhere on my body outside of MC that took about 2-3 months to clear. To describe those bumps they were not red but my regular skin tone with white heads with a depressed center.
My rash or red mark has never leaked fluid it has got scaly from time to time but has not in several months and the red mark over this last year is getting better i think
My questions that are most important and would help relieve some stress
1. Is this a rare case of herpetic urethritis?
2. Chances of false negatives after having one test at 8 weeks and another at 16 weeks?
3. Chances of passing this to my unborn child?
4. When will my wife develope symptoms? Has not had any after about 6 months of unprotected intercourse and has also tested negative for the full panel to include HSV type specific.
5. What would be my next course of action?

5 days worth 1000MG twice daily and still going he wanted me to take the meds till Monday. He said if little to no change he would refer me to a uro.

Thank you I am going to order one Monday! Just trouble some cause their are no visual signs so I guess I would fall into that 3% of people who only have an outbreak internally (urethra) with no other signs. Sucks but manageable.
Thank you for the advice!!! They started me on valtrex Monday my symptoms have been pretty much the same. This goes from 3-6 weeks at a time takes a brief break then comes back its very inconsistent. I have asked for a referral to a Urologists for just that procedure and it's an obstacle and trial an error. Drinking water tends to ease the tingling duration after urination but not so much after ejaculation. I am doing the what if's cause that just causes more issues if anything. What is upsetting is dermatologists say the red mark is consistant with psoriasis and a second opion said the same after looking at skin scarpings. When other doctors look at it they say herpes and start treatment which has happened twice but why without the presnece of an outbreak? Whatever answers or suggestions I get on here I will bring to my docs attention Monday during my follow up which is also when he is taking me off Valtrex if my symptoms have not got better. After 4.5 days of treatment; symptoms are the same.
My concerns is when he started my valtrex I was already on the downward slope of this set of symptoms as I have been dealing with this set for around 30 plus days now.

The fact that she tested neg for HSV is a good sign. Very good. Although I don't think it makes you 100% negative, it means you are likely to be.
Your unborn child is completely safe so long as she (wife) is not HSV positive. COMPLETELY SAFE. And, honestly, what's more important than that?
You have other possible next steps: I would do two things. First, have another IgG (type specific) what can that hurt? The fact is, you have HSV1 orally already which makes you someone who will convert more slowly to HSV2 (like many of us). I would feel better (if it were me) testing one more time. Then, if that's negative, I would try like hell to order a Western Blot next time you're stateside. Cystoscopy hurts like hell... worse than chlamydia for sure. Do it as a last resort.

At this point you might want to have a scope look inside.
