Herpes Eye (man)

Hello - I have concern that I might have Herpes and have a scheduled visit with my PCP when I return home.  I am concerned that I might have Herpes.  Either recently or from some time ago.  I have never (yet) had any sores or blisters but getting very itchy down there for the past month.  It comes and goes.  Now my left eye is very itchy and irrated.  It looks like there could be something growing in the corner.  I am also all of a sudden very itchy in my groin area.  I have not had sex for several weeks.  I am in San Francisco right now.  Should I go to a local hospital and have this eye looked at?

you were seen by a medical professional who actually saw your symptoms and didn't feel that they were due to herpes. At this point you have absolutely no reason to doubt anything you were told.

If it doesn't go away by time you are DONE with your medication, then that is when you need to see the doc again. From what I have read and from what friends have told me, blisters come relatively quick, like within a day or two after the tingle feeling people get. SOME people never get to that point though, and so it would just be a red infected looking area.

Thank you for the insight.  I went to the doctor today and she said that my eye infection was some type of allergic reaction and that my genital itching was in fact a fungal infection.  She gave me Hydroxyzine for the eye and Zeasorb-AF for the Fungal infection.  I really hope this kicks in because my genital area seems to be getting worse.  If this were a Herpes infection would I see something resembling a blister soon?  And at what point should I return to the doctor if the itch doesn't go away?

I had an eye issue a few weeks ago as well as last week that I thought was herpes. I went to the eye dr. three times and was told on the third time I had a bacterial infection on the eye lids, but nothing herpes.

Also, if it were herpes in the eyes, they told me that you will DEF experience some pain to where you will have to have an ice patch on your eye and you can barely open them. But get it checked out to make sure it is nothing serious.

it's not likely this is herpes in your eye but definitely follow up on it since something is going on. Never a good idea to mess around when it's your eyes.

just genital itching and no obvious lesions is more likely to be a fungal infection aka jock itch than a herpes issue.
