HSV 2 Retest

I had previously posted back in May about my experience at a massage parlor along with the tests that I had done.  Its was answered by Dr. Hook really quick and straight to the point and am really appreciative for his help.  The issue that arises now is that I went to my primary care physician for a check up and told him about what had happened to me with the test results.  The first HSV 2 came in positive at 1.65, I asked the nurse the name of the test they used but she didn't know, she only knew it wasn't the Herpeselct.  The second test which I took which was the Herpeselct came in at .2 clearly negative.  As for HSV 1 I am well aware I have it and tested positive both times.  Now my doctor who  also specializes in Infectious Disease said he never heard of a false positive and is making me take another HSV 2 test along with a culture test.  My girlfreind also tested negative for HSV 2.  Is it wise to redo the test?  He did a physical on me and still there are no lesions or sore nor did I ever have an outbreak, its been close to two months and the only activity I enaged in was stictly hand to genital or a " Hand Job" on several occasions. Thank you

Hello Grace,

I know I am beating a dead horse here but I just want to make make sure I am covering all my angles.  Well based on th einforamtion above and the other posts I have placed with the good Doctors, just wanted to ask you if a repeat testing is needed?  What I forgot to mention on the post above is that the second test which I took (Herpeselect) which the HSV 2 came back negative, my HSV 1 results cam in as 33.1.  I asked the nurse if she said she has seen a number that high and said yes.  I called the lab to confirm the test and they told me it was the Herpeselect HSV IGG type specific test.  If you need some more history is as follows:

1st HSV 1/2 Test (Walk in Clinic) got results same day

HSV 1 - 2.1
HSV 2 - 1.65

2nd test (Herpeselect) from small lab that runs test.

HSV 1 - 33.1
HSV 2 - .2

The only sexual contact that I have had was with my girlfriend of 5 years, who has also tested negative for HSV 2.  I have visited some massage parlors on several occasions over the past year and ONLY had recieved hand to genital contact till finished or happy endings.  If you can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
