so me and my boyfriend have been together since december. We have been having unprotected sex and so forth. Ive known him since i was 6 and we were recently talking bout getting married. Well I saw a cold sore on his face and thought nothing of it. Well about a month ago we broke up until he gets back from Alaska hes going away for a while. Well on saint pattys day we decided to go out and we ended up getting really drunk and having sex, I had Thrush about 2 weeks prior to that and it went away and i thought nothing of it. Well i went down on him and we ended up having sex right after. In the middle of sex i started burning really bad and hurting, He had scratched me so i didn't think nothing of it.. i was still hurting 4 days after but it wasn't so bad i was able to still sit and pee and things like that. We ended up getting in a big arguement and I went to my friends house to stay and me and him ended up doing stuff by the end of the night (it was a mistake and i feel badly about it so please dont judge me) but anyway I had to stop because i was still burning really bad well the next day after i got home i grabbed a mirror and decided to look down there and see why it was hurting and buring so bad (at that point it hurt so bad just to pee) I had scratches ulcers blisters everything down there, and i could barely sit walk everything my mom said my thrush (yeast infection) spread from my mouth to my privates so i didn't think nothing of it I went throught that pain from the wednesday after saint pattys day to that monday when i made a appointment to see the gyno. She did blood work and a culture. The culture came back positive for hsv-1 and the blood test came back negitive. Well my boyfriend (well ex now from saint pattys day) has had cold sores since he was 5 he said because i told him i went and got checked and had hsv-1. the gyno told me it would take 3 months to get into my bloodstream, so she said i just recently got it. He said he got checked for everything after his son was born (from another woman) but he has still gotten cold sores when the weather changes. He said he went to 5 different doctors and they all said it was a cold sore, and nothing else he didn't have herpes or hsv-1 nothing. Could i have gotten it from him and his doctors just didn't kno what it was he had? can he have herpes at age 5? He was the only person ive been with since december and i accidently had sex with my friend that one time after. I was already burning after me and my ex now had sex (well during) If you understand any of this please help me i'm so confused and my doctor was getting mad at me for asking so many ?s I just dont kno what to think hes going to make a appointment this coming up monday well tomorrow to get tested again buh my best friend drunk after me after me and her went for drinks one day and my brother drunk after him the other day. everyone is mad at me and i just want answers ive never had symtoms until that one time. To my knowledge i have been clean and never had anything in my life but i also know i can have it without knowing it. but if i had it wouldn't it have been in my bloodstream when i got work done that day when i went to the gyno. Please help me anyway u can. i'm so confused and stressed. idk how i got this should i look at my boyfriend or my friend. My mom said i could have jus gotten it wen an ulcer turns into a blister i dont have to have sex at all to get it... If i have it and his test come up negitive what should i do?

cuz my blood test came back neg. she said it will show in my blood in 3 months... He said hes going to come back neg. what should i do then?
correct - you can still contract hsv2.
no i didn't know I was suposed to do that... so i can catch hsv 2 even tho i have hsv 1 and he has a test thursday. Will it show in his blood?
typically with hsv1 genitally, just avoiding sex anytime you have anything going on genitally is all it takes. make sure any potential partners are tested for herpes to know their status too. If a partner has hsv2, you need to take precautions to protect you from that.

What kind of precautions should i take?
if you can't get a hold of him, nothing you can do. you know what you have and where you have it so that you and future partners can make educated decisions about what precautions to take.
so does this mean that i just recently been infected with herpes, and does this also mean the person (my now ex boyfriend) might not show up in his blood that he has it? He is 100% positive he doesn't or hasn't had it ever in his life. Ive been trying to check and see what the results are because he should have them by now but no matter how hard i try i can not get ahold of him in anyway shape or form.
you might never test + for hsv1 on the blood tests. that's why a lesion culture and typing of active symptoms is so helpful. You know what you have and where you have it. You might test + on blood tests in a few weeks or it could take months to show up. no reason to double check your results actually.
if your bowels aren't moving normally and you aren't pooping regularly, don't hesitate to use a fiber supplement , a stool softener or if it's been more than 3 days since you last had a bowel movement, use a laxative. The more stool stays in there, the more pressure it puts on the nerves and can cause you more pain. Herpes can affect the bowels and bladder both with a newly acquired infection but things will get better in a week or two.

no my bowles are quite weird and yes i'm urinating alot better now i'm easily ripped i guess everytime i wipe i can rip myself and start bleeding its weird like im not fully healed yet. I was tested after my ex before my last boyfriend for the 3 test gynos normally test for the ones you can get after a week i think you wrote. I'm hoping my ex will call after he gets off work, buh if he doesn't i'm not sure what to do. When i had ulcers i went to the gyno and she tested for every possible test i was able to get I was with him for 4 months when i got tested so I should of gotten accurate tests everything came back negitive except for the hsv1 test i talked to him and he swears up and down he doesn't have anything that he went to 5 doctors and they all said its just from the weather. When i get infected with hsv-1 how long does it take to get into my bloodstream? do you know? because my blood work all came back negitive there was nothing in my blood at all so she said it hasnt yet gotten to my bloodstream but it eventually will. What should i do now i have an appointment made for July to go get more bloodwork done to double check the results she said by then it should be in my bloodstream if i have anything.
odds are that before this, neither of you were ever tested for herpes to know your status. indeed cold sores are hsv1 orally and it's unfortunate your ex's providers gave him such poor info :(

Thanks and when i went to the gyno she said it was ulcers i was so swollen down there i couldn't even use the bathroom i ended up having to sit in the tub jus to use the bathroom and then had to shower afterward.. i talked to him saturday he called and checked on me saturday, and i haven't heard from him since he said he was going to make a appointment and get tested but i still haven't heard from him. i'm not sure what i should do next. i just keep racking my brain wonderin what happens if his comes back negitive.. but i understand everything that u said thanks
also, so you know, there are medication you can take to suppress the herpes virus and help control your outbreaks. combine that with other protection like condoms, and you should be able to have a normal sex life.
You have to have skin to skin contact with an infected person during and outbreak (outbreaks are not always in the visible stage) in order to get herpes. so your mother is misinformed. You did not get ulcers on your vagina
Cold sores ARE herpes. Usually type 1. People got accustom to calling them cold sores because its nicer than saying herpes. But a large percent of the population has Type 1 herpes (most likely on the mouth) and usually get it in their childhood. Type 1 is less aggressive in most cases and you might just have the one "bad" outbreak the first time you get it. Type 2 is more aggressive and typically has more outbreaks. His test should come up positive, but doctors will always ask you before reading the results to you, that if you have had cold sores, then it will read positive and you don't have genital herpes. But, via oral sex, oral herpes can spread to the genitals. Out of all the STDs, this one carries a stimga, mostly because its unsightly, but it doesn't harm your body in anyway, you can live with it forever. You will meet a lot of Pricks that will judge you, yet they have "cold sores".
