What could this be?

About 4 months ago, I had unprotected sex with a girl on a one night stand (Very Stupid!). After I had a tingle in the tip of my penis, which went away. I proceeded to get tested at the local clinic about 7/8 weeks after the sexual contact. The tests included Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, HIV and Syphilis. All came back negative.

I then began seeing my ex girlfriend a couple of months ago, and shortly after I noticed that my foreskin became red and began to peel. Reading online, I it sounded like thrush, so I used canestan cream on it and it cleared up after a couple of weeks.
Then about 4 days ago, I felt my groin crease (where the groin meets the thigh) becoming itchy and have a slight burning sensation. This was on both of my groins. There were a couple of red spots at the area's. No blisters or sores, or swollen glands etc.

Does this sound like Herpes, any other STD, or does it sound like something like Jock Itch?

Thanks

There is no real indication that this is herpes related. I'm sure your doctor will confirm as such shortly.

Hi life,

Just an update for you. I have a doctor's appointment booked for this coming Monday. The problem began to clear, but now on my right groin is a red spot which looks inflamed and is slightly irritating (not sure if it's irritated from looking at it too much?) Like I said, I am getting whatever problem checked out, but I am looking for an opinion before I go.

Would herpes affect my penis/scrotum and not groin? Would I have seen something before now?

Sorry to be a pest, but would appreciate any feedback.

Hi Life360, thanks for your reply!

If it was Herpes, would the symptoms be different? ie. not show up on the groin, but the penis instead? Would they likely have materialised before now and caused more pain / symptoms?

I have read a lot online about them, and think that I am potentially worrying myself about something that might not be there. I plan to see the doctor anyway to get the correct medication for whatever problem it is.

Thanks for your help.

Hi, no this does not sound like herpes but jock itch. If your sexually active you might consider having a herpes test for the protection of future partner as even having oral hsv1 can be passed to the genital area while performing oral sex.
