Herpes and Eosinophilic Esophagitis?

Listed right under causes on this website

http://www.medicinenet.com/eosinophilic_esophagitis/article.htm#what_is_and_what_causes_eosinophilic_esophagitis

I developed a breathing issue in May 13', by July 13' I had an endoscopy performed and they found signs of Eosinophilic Esophagitis, , , finally by Nov 13' I realized that I had not been tested for Herpes back in May when all of it started, and found out I was Herpes +  (both 1 and 2). To this day I have NEVER had an outbreak. No blisters, no coldsores in either one of those areas.

I have seen an allergist and have received the standard treatment for EE, it did nothing to help.   How could I find out if my Eosinophilic Esophagitis is being caused by my Herpes infection? Is there any sort of test for that?

That's actually very incorrect. I went to the doctor's every 6 months for STD testing. I had an active sex life, and I'm an idiot and never really wore a condom, so I tried to be irresponsibly responsible by getting checked semi annually.    I'm not sure how many times they did, or did not test for Herpes but I do have a test from 2011 where I was checked for Herpes

IgG specific Hsv 1 and 2 :  both  .02<    both negative.

I am fairly certain  that I contracted Herpes last year. While it's possible I could have caught it earlier in between 2011 and 2013, it doesn't really add up.   I was extremely healthy, and then I was not. I contracted chlamydia, and about a month later I started having breathing issues. I also spent about a month just feeling extremely tired and I had one episode of night sweats.  - all signs of some sort of viral infection, , , all signs pointing towards Herpes.

So really I'm still just wondering  how I could find out if my Eosinophilic Esophagitis is being caused by my Herpes infection? Is there any sort of test for that?

There would be little doubt you have had your HSV1 infection since childhood. Your body has been managing the infection extremely well since then so it is not really a large chance that things would get out of hand and cause the issues you describe.

The 'test' you describe might be to take antivirals for a short period and see if there is an improvement.

These symptoms will not be caused by herpes. You need to move on from any STD causing these symptoms for two key reasons: this is not a symptoms of STDs and you've tested clear of STDs.

In terms of herpes, could you provide your blood test results?
