Herpes and pregnant.

I had got herpes from my unborn dad (ex) a year ago we was together till June of this year. But I have a question I just have it in the vaginal area. I just read that you can still shed with out even having a outbreak. I know they will give me medication to take when I'm 36 weeks till I give birth. But I don't want my child to catch anything and be in danger. I been thinking of a c-section then go back to vaginal birth. I know a c-section is a big surgery. But I don't want my child to deal with something for life just because of what I got he don't deserve it. This is my second so i know what it's like to give birth. I didn't have it with her. So she perfectly healthy. But would it be safer it I had a c-section? I'm 33w so don't have long to think about it just want some options.
Please don't be rude.

Hi, most of herpes concerns is when a person comes down with it later in pregancy in that antibodies have not yet been established to avoid outbreaks. Outbreaks that occur at time of birth are the most contagious for the baby.
Your concern for shedding is valid and should be an issue to discuss with your doctor. Below is some shedding information that may be helpful.

HSV2 GENITAL---15-30% OF THE DAYS EVALUATED
HSV1 GENITAL----3-5% OF THE DAYS EVALUATED
HSV1 ORAL-----9-18% OF THE DAYS EVALUATED
HSV2 ORAL-----1% OF THE DAYS EVALUDATE
