Reinfection

Iv just come down with a sore throat and swollen tonsils.  I have genital herpe for 6 months but have never had sores.
I was just wondering if I could reinfect myself orally and therefore that be the cause of the severe pain in my throat. I also have swollen neck glands.  The only way that i could have thought that i could have reinfected myself is when i shower.

By blood test about 3 months ago. Result has HSV 2.  My main question here is now likely is it that the symptoms im displaying is autoinnoculation / selfinfection?

Your oral symptoms most likely don't have a darn thing to do with herpes. See your provider for a strep throat culture though.

Autoinnoculation usually occurs during the primary outbreak, but it is not common.  If you were having an oral outbreak, you would probably notice sores somewhere around your mouth.  Also, if you have not had any sores, how were you diagnoses with genital herpes?
