Genital HSV1 Recurrence?

Hi All,

Quick question...has anyone on here experienced a recurring genital HSV1 outbreak?  Based on my other posts on here, I MAY have gotten it genitally (even though I already have it orally) and just wanted to know what my risk factors are for a recurring genital HSV1 infection.

I'm asking just because I'm an uncircumcised male.  About a week and a half ago, I engaged in some rough sex (with a condom) and the next day I noticed beneath my foreskin I had a few circular cuts that were painless and didn't itch.  They appeared to have gone away, but I still have this reddish looking blemish that appears worse when I'm out of a hot shower, but there's clearly not open sore when i stretch the skin or anything.

Thanks.

Thanks,
Buster

Thanks, Life.

Maybe my post wasn't clear, but the "cuts" and reddish spot were on the shaft beneath the foreskin below the head, which is what concerned me.

Hi, giving yourself hsv1 genital from having it oral is really not an issue. Getting it from your recent affair with the sore you describe would not be a new infection as your penis was covered and first time breakouts would be at point of exposure.
Contracting it from a prior affair is possible but from what your describing the sores dont appear herpes related but more an injury from the recent affair. There would be somekind of irritation if these were herpes sores on your penis and the area is not consistant with a outbreak but would be more on the shaft not the head.

The best way to address this issue would be to have any new sores swabbed within 48 hours after appearing.
