Herpes igm test negative

How accurate is the herpes IGM test at 11 days tested after possible exposure?
I did a full panel of tests to include the Igm and everything came back negative.

From what I have read the igm should not be discounted in every situation.
I believe if you have a known history - a negative result on the igm is valuable
Reassurance. This without the need to worry needlessly for several months.
I was with a hsv 1/2 positive gf for several months before we found out her status.
I tested negative igg a week after last encounter and got a negative igm at 14 days.
I have a clean igg from 10 months before without any other possible hsv contacts since
then. Truly believe in my situation the igm gives something of value.

the herpes igm test is a greatly flawed test and current CDC guidelines are that it not be used on adults for the purpose of diagnosing herpes. The provider who ordered it for you isn't up to date on herpes testing :(

the only std testing you had that was accurate 11 days post encounter was for chlamydia, gonorrhea and trich. All other testing was done far too early.

From what I have read on this site, IgM is not the recommended test and that the IgG is, 3 months post encounter.

Igm is specifically for early detection. IGG tests determines which strain you have which requires a longer wait time to test. I think you might be mistaken

11 days is too early. You need to wait 3 months in order for an accurate hepres test and you need to get an IGG not an IGM.
