Genetal HSV-1 - Is is less contagious the older it gets?

Is it true that genital herpes (HSV1) will be contagious/active the first year of exposure than in the following years?
Is there any study done to consider if shedding decreases relatively as the years pass by?

We do not have stats on valtrex with genital hsv1 when taken suppressively like we do with hsv2.

If you have HSV-1 and take valtrex doesn't that reduce the percent to 2%?

We really don't have studies that look at shedding patterns for folks infected with hsv1 genitally long term  :(    As of now - it's 3% of days on average for hsv1 genitally.  That would mean 3 days out of every 100 days the virus is active on average in most folks.

I meant to ask, is genital hsv-1 the most contagious in the early years than in later years? Does shedding events reduce as the time goes on and as the number of outbreaks reduce?
