Herpes on finger

I nanny for a one year old who looks like she has a cold sore on her chin. I completely forgot about a cut on my finger and gave her food in her mouth. It did not come in contact with the sore but it did touch her mouth/saliva. I washed my hands right after.  Would this be enough to cause transmission of the virus? How long would it be to tell?

Hi to get herpes there needs to be direct rubbing contact so in your case you did not contract herpes from what you describe.
