Herpes or fungal infection?

On April 8th I had unprotected oral and vaginal sex with my partner- dumb, i know. We had been seeing each other for a while and this was our first encounter. Before we engaged in sexual activity, we talked about our history. He stated that he had been tested in January and came back clean for everything. He said he was just as concerned and cautious as I was about his sexual health.

About 24 days later I noticed red, irritated skin around my perineum (skin between your vagina and anus). I noticed that it itched and burned after practice, but didn't think anything of it because sometimes while I sweat at practice I get this same feeling. After two days of it persisting, I decided to take a look. I was horrified at what I saw. It was like a continuous patch of red, inflamed skin. It slightly itched, but more so burned. I made an appointment with my gyno, but all she had was an appointment two weeks out. I monitored it each day, but it just stayed the same. It was extremely red, inflamed skin in like a semi-circle around my perineum and there were tiny bumps at the end. The bumps did not look like lesions, and stayed the same for the two weeks & a half that i had this. The rash had become so irritated and dry, then it began to flake. I went to urgent care and she said it was dermatitis, but the medicine she gave me did not help. When i finally saw my gyno, she said "no, this is absolutely not herpes. this looks like an external yeast/fungal infection of the skin." I asked her if she would take a swab of the rash and she said "hun, i can't. these are not lesions. trust me i have been doing this 10 plus years and i've seen every type of herpes infection, and this is not that." She said that if the bumps did not go away, they could possibly be genital warts, but then she said they don't even look like that. She gave me nystatin with triamcinolone that was in the form of a cream. I applied it that night and the next morning it cleared up 60-70% of the rash, and by the third day it was completely gone. I also got tested for hsv and everything came back negative, except for hsv1 but i have tested positive for this for years. A year before this incident i tested positive for hsv 1 at greater than 8.0. I also tested positive for BV, and she gave me antibiotics for this.

Does this sound like herpes or a fungal infection?

Could this be an hsv1 herpes infection on my genitals?

That area is very prone to irritations from sweat and bacteria build. Since it went away with the cream. Since the cream is a cortizone cream, it kill fungal infection so it must be fungal.

Hi, no. im with the doctor on this. Is not at all close to the symptoms of herpes and the area is not comon as the skin is too thick.
Those with establish hsv in one area are basicly immune to contracting it in another, so no you did not pass it to your genitals.
