In your opinion, how encouraging is a negative at 8 weeks, I have heard it is somewhat encouraging, now Im starting to worry again.
yes, having hsv1 can delay seroconversion which is why we recommend waiting like we do.
Because I had a positive type 1, have you heard of many cases where an iGG test like mine at 8 weeks, turned positive for type 2 for some reason related to type 1 being positive?
you need to count from the last time you had sex so if the last time was only 8 weeks prior to testing, take what I said into consideration.
Hi Grace, thank you very much for commenting, I was looking forward to your response. I have to clear up my data. The encounter I was worried about was on October 1st or 2nd, so it would have been around 100 days prior to the IGG test I am referring to in my question.; (IGG after 8 weeks)
The test was On January 10th, which was 8 weeks after my last encounter (November 15th)
During the encounter on October 1st, I performed 10-15 minutes of oral sex, and give or take 10 minutes of trying unprotected intercourse without much penetration due to drinking. So, that is where I got 14 weeks from. Actually it was 100 or 101 days. Hope I wrote that well enough to understand. Thank you
we recommend waiting at least 3 months to test. if you are really concerned about the encounter in question, I'd wait until 4 months post encounter to test again for hsv2 since you are hsv1+.
